State Rep. Angie Nixon and Bernie Sanders 2020 Senior Advisor Phillip Agnew Endorse Oliver Larkin's Grassroots Challenge to Jared Moskowitz in FL-25

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Florida State Representative Angie Nixon and Phillip Agnew, senior advisor to Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign, have endorsed Oliver Larkin's campaign for Congress in Florida's 25th Congressional District.

Their endorsements add to a growing coalition of progressive leaders backing Larkin's campaign, including former U.S. Representative Jamaal Bowman, former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner, and Organizer of the year, Kat Passley.

Agnew is a nationally recognized organizer and co-founder of Dream Defenders who served as a senior advisor to Sen. Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign.

"Oliver isn't running to manage the status quo. He's running to challenge it," said Rep. Nixon. "Working people need leaders willing to fight for affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, and a government that serves people instead of corporate interests."

"At a time when too many politicians are protecting the powerful, Oliver is building a campaign centered on working people," said Agnew. "He's offering a vision that matches the scale of the challenges families are facing every day."

Larkin, a former 2016 Bernie staffer and community organizer, is running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, universal childcare, a $25 minimum wage, ending corporate PAC influence in politics, and standing up to corporate power.

"I'm honored to earn the support of leaders who have spent their lives fighting for economic justice, civil rights, and working people," said Larkin. "This campaign is bringing together people who believe politics should serve ordinary Americans, not wealthy donors and corporate interests."

The endorsements come as Larkin's grassroots campaign gains momentum in his Democratic primary challenge to incumbent Congressman Jared Moskowitz in Florida's 25th Congressional District.
