His parents taught him the values of hard work, integrity, and service. He attended Pine Crest School and later graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.<strong><br></strong></p><p>As a high school student, he made phone calls for Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign and helped lead student climate efforts pushing for fossil fuel divestment. He went on to study English and History at Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee, where he also played football. When climate-denying Governor Rick Scott was re-elected in 2014, Oliver decided to act. After college, he was working in a restaurant, earning the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour when he contacted Bernie Sanders’ New Hampshire team, quit his job, and drove north to volunteer for a long-shot presidential campaign.<br><br>Oliver showed up every day until he was hired—starting as an unpaid volunteer and eventually leading the Portsmouth field office through Sanders’ upset victory in the New Hampshire primary. He went on to organize in states across the country, including Nevada, Kansas, Utah, New York, and Rhode Island.<br><br>In 2016, Oliver joined a communications firm in Washington, DC and helped unionize it with the NewsGuild-CWA—setting a new standard for how campaign workers should be treated. His work supported the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Senator Sanders’ Our Revolution, and the grassroots effort to pass Florida’s Amendment 4, which restored voting rights to over one million people.<br><strong><br></strong>While living in Washington, DC during the COVID-19 pandemic, Oliver joined the Democratic Socialists of America, protested for racial justice following the police murder of George Floyd, and experienced the unrest surrounding the January 6th Capitol insurrection. These moments deepened his belief that democracy and civil rights aren’t guaranteed—they must be protected and practiced. Like many in South Florida, they’ve navigated skyrocketing housing costs between rentals in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Deerfield Beach.<br><br>Since coming back home, Oliver has stood alongside families, educators, and LGBTQIA+ youth to protest groups like Moms for Liberty, the Proud Boys, and far-right school board members' hate-fueled attacks. Oliver is an active member of Broward DSA and continues working to build a more livable, inclusive, and just South Florida.<br><br><strong>We deserve independent leadership that gets results. Oliver led a field office for Bernie Sanders in 2016, started a union at his workplace, and spent time as an activist in South Florida fighting back against luxury developers, toxic landfills, and affronts to LGBTQIA+ communities.</strong></p><p><strong>Oliver is running a campaign on Medicare for All, abolishing ICE, and an end to the U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza. He rejects money from corporate PACs, AIPAC, and lobbyists.</strong></p><h2><strong>The Facts About Jared Moskowitz</strong></h2><p><strong>Voters need to learn that Jared Moskowitz is a corrupt career politician who has spent his time in Congress voting with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and AIPAC. <p><strong>Fort Lauderdale, FL</strong> — Democratic candidate for Florida’s 23rd congressional Oliver Larkin issued the following statements following the resignation of FL-20’s Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick:</p><p><strong>“Let’s be clear about what this is,”</strong> Larkin said. <strong>“This is the use of public money meant for Covid response being redirected into a political campaign. <p><strong>FL-23 Democratic Candidate Oliver Larkin Opposes DeSantis Redistricting Plan as Unconstitutional Attack on Voters </strong></p><p><br>Fort Lauderdale, FL — Democratic candidate for Florida’s 23rd congressional district Oliver Larkin issued the following statement after Florida Republicans voted 21-17 to pass Governor Ron Desantis' congressional redistricting map:<br><br>“This egregious, unconstitutional attempt to disenfranchise Florida voters is a direct attack on our democracy," Larkin said.<br><br>The newly approved map will reshape districts across the state, consolidating Republican-leaning areas while breaking apart communities in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach County, raising serious concerns under Florida’s Fair Districts Amendment, which explicitly prohibits maps drawn to favor a political party or weaken the voting power of communities of color.<br><br>“The Fair Districts Amendment exists to stop exactly this kind of partisan manipulation,” Larkin said. “This is about whether voters choose their representatives, or politicians choose their voters. <p><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<br>November 17, 2025</strong><br></p><p>Deerfield Beach, FL — Oliver Larkin’s campaign in Florida’s 23rd congressional district announced the endorsement of Nina Turner, a former member of the Cleveland City Council, Ohio Senate, and national co-chair of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, in his Democratic primary against incumbent U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz.<br></p><p><strong>“Oliver Larkin is the progressive champion that working class South Floridians deserve in Congress,” </strong>said Turner. <strong>“As president of Our Revolution, I worked closely with Oliver for years. As a two-time appointee of Governor Ron DeSantis, he was the only Democrat in our congressional delegation to vote for Republicans’ racist, ICE-empowering <em>Laken Riley Act.</em> He was the first Democrat in Congress to join Elon Musk’s DOGE Caucus.
