Candidate Oliver Larkin Raises Over $100K in Democratic Primary Challenge to Rep. Jared Moskowitz
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 15, 2025
Deerfield Beach, FL — Oliver Larkin’s campaign for Congress in Florida’s 23rd District announced it raised over $100,000 from more than 1,000 grassroots donors nationwide in its first Federal Election Commission reporting quarter—rivaling the early fundraising pace of leading Democratic and Republican contenders in South Florida without corporate PAC money.
“South Floridians can’t afford the skyrocketing costs of housing, healthcare, transportation, groceries, childcare, and education,” said Larkin, a marketing professional and former Democratic campaign staffer. “Families are living in fear amid ICE raids. While our congressman refuses to hold town halls or answer questions, we are in the community—listening, organizing, and building the resources to give voters a stronger choice in 2026.”
Larkin is challenging Rep. Jared Moskowitz, a two-time Ron DeSantis appointee rated Florida’s Least Effective Democrat by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking at the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University. Moskowitz’s local absence, stock trades, and votes for Republican-led bills have drawn headlines and frustrated activists. He was the first House Democrat to join the DOGE Caucus, the only Florida Democrat to vote for Republicans’ Laken Riley Act, and has voted with Republicans to further Trump’s DC takeover and censure fellow Democrats—all while accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate PAC donations.
A Fort Lauderdale native, Larkin brings a decade of political experience as an early hire on Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, organizing a union with the NewsGuild-CWA, and as a marketing director supporting Democrats and progressive causes.
Larkin is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Sewanee: The University of the South, running on a platform to overturn Citizens United, ban congressional stock trading, and take on Trump’s billionaire oligarchs to pass Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, a $25 minimum wage, free college, childcare, paid family and medical leave, and other progressive priorities.
“Like many South Floridians, I voted for Congressman Moskowitz,” Larkin added. “But his embrace of the Trump-Musk DOGE agenda is a betrayal of our values and our community’s trust. Our early fundraising shows that South Floridians believe we can—and must—do better. It’s time to bring a new generation of South Florida leadership to Washington.”
