Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach Democratic Black Caucuses Endorse Oliver Larkin for Congress in FL-25

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Oliver Larkin's campaign for Congress in Florida's 25th District announced today that it has earned the endorsement of the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County Democratic Black Caucuses, a tri-county show of support less than three weeks before the August 18 Democratic primary against Rep. Jared Moskowitz.

"It is an incredible honor to announce that our campaign has been endorsed by the Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach Democratic Black Caucuses," said Larkin. "Black political representation is under attack in the U.S., and I will do whatever it takes to beat back the rise of white supremacy. Alongside the Black Caucus, we will defeat Trump, DeSantis, and DeSantis Democrats like Jared Moskowitz, who cares more about appeasing Republicans than speaking with his constituents."

At the forum, Larkin spoke directly to voters about issues facing the Black community, including protecting Temporary Protected Status holders, getting ICE out of Caribbean communities, expanding government contracts to support Black-owned small businesses, and his support for H.R. 40, longstanding legislation to establish a commission studying reparations proposals for African Americans. The endorsement comes a week after Moskowitz skipped the first scheduled debate of the primary, a forum hosted by the Broward County and Miami-Dade County Democratic Black Caucuses at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Larkin showed up while Moskowitz left his seat empty, extending a pattern of avoiding voters documented by WLRN that includes not holding a single in-person town hall since taking office in 2022. Earlier this summer, the Sun Sentinel Editorial Board declined to endorse Moskowitz for the first time in any of his previous races, citing his avoidance of Larkin.

The endorsement adds to a growing coalition backing Larkin's campaign, which has already secured support from labor unions, national progressive organizations, and elected officials across the state.

Larkin's campaign continues to build momentum on every front, raising over $300,000 in the last six weeks without a dime from corporate PACs or AIPAC, and knocking on over 3,662 doors during a single canvass kickoff weekend as part of a field program that has now reached more than 100,000 voters. His new campaign ad, "The Good Life," has drawn over 513,000 views on YouTube and is airing on ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX affiliates in South Florida. Larkin also went viral after a Fox News appearance in which he called out Donald Trump over the Epstein files, and recently joined CNN's Laura Coates for a conversation on democratic socialism and the DSA platform.
