Deerfield Beach, FL – Oliver Larkin released the following statement on joint U.S.-Israeli military strikes on Iran:

“Human beings with lives, dreams, and loved ones have once again become the casualties of war games and sanctions, and we mourn the innocent Iranian lives that have been lost today and over the last month. Let us be clear: Jared Moskowitz gave Donald Trump a blank check to drag the United States into an illegal war with Iran. By opposing Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie’s Iran war powers resolution, Moskowitz has abandoned his oath of office to exercise Congress’ constitutional war powers authority and is once again doing Israel’s bidding by supporting a war no one asked for.”

Moskowitz is 1 of 2 House Democrats who immediately opposed the Khanna-Massie war powers resolution, which he has derided as the “Ayatollah Protection Act,” part of a continuing pattern of antagonism undermining congressional war powers authority. Larkin noted that Congress also has the power to diplomatically address conflicts through the power of the purse and trade, and once again, this administration is choosing to break international law and abandon diplomacy at the cost of innocent lives.

Moskowitz has long supported a belligerent U.S. policy toward Iran, including on May 11, 2025, when he stated on Fox News Sunday, “What I would like to see actually is a little tougher language coming from the Trump administration. I’m to the right of this issue to the JD Vance-Witkoff approach, and I agree quite frankly more with Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Tom Cotton.”

Larkin added, “If Jared Moskowitz is more in agreement with Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton on bombing Iran, he should have the guts to cast an on-the-record vote that he opposes congressional war powers authority vested by the Constitution. Enough endless wars. District 23 deserves a representative who will do everything in their power to stop this catastrophic war with Iran, and that is what our campaign is fighting for. The only people who will win here are the war profiteers.”
