Larkin Condemns Trump’s Latest January 6 Pardons, Questions Moskowitz’s Silence and Failure in Role

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 16, 2025

Deerfield Beach, FL — Oliver Larkin, Democrat for Florida’s 23rd U.S. House district condemned Donald Trump’s pardon of an Oath Keepers militia member just days after Trump pardoned 77 co-conspirators who sought to help him overturn the 2020 presidential election. Larkin sharply criticized incumbent congressman Jared Moskowitz for his silence and failure of leadership on the House January 6 subcommittee.

“Rep. Moskowitz is one of just three House Democrats appointed by Leader Hakeem Jeffries to serve on the Republicans' January 6 subcommittee. Why hasn’t he bothered to speak out all week against Donald Trump’s lawless ongoing assault on democracy and attempt to erase the history of his 2020 election loss?” Larkin said.

Larkin lived in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021, and from March 2021 through December 2024, he worked with Rep. Adam Schiff’s campaign during Schiff’s time on the United States House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol and Schiff’s 2024 campaign winning election to the U.S. Senate.

“Donald Trump is an existential threat to our democracy, and Rep. Moskowitz is not doing his job standing up to him,” Larkin added. “His silence shows why the Center for Effective Lawmaking rated Jared Moskowitz Florida’s Least Effective Democrat in Congress, and why it never made sense for Leader Jeffries to install a Democrat who helped Republicans pass Trump’s DC CRIMES Act to a subcommittee where Democrats should be protecting the American people from insurrectionists.”

Trump’s November 14 pardon of militia member Dan Wilson on weapons charges is unrelated to his felony conviction for his role in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. The pardon follows a November 9 pardon announced by DOJ Pardon Attorney Ed Martin of 77 individuals including Rudy Giuliani and former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and Trump’s Day One January 20 pardon of nearly 1,600 violent insurrectionists, including hundreds convicted or pleaded guilty of assaulting police.
