Larkin Campaign Hits 1 MILLION in Grassroots Fundraising, 5 Days Out from Election Day

Larkin Campaign Has made More Than 200,000 Voter contacts as AI and Wall Street-Backed Groups Spend More Than $559,000 Supporting Moskowitz

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — With five days until Florida’s August 18 Democratic primary, Oliver Larkin’s campaign for Florida’s 25th Congressional District has surpassed $1 million in grassroots fundraising, with more than 200,000 voter contacts, and expanded its coalition as a new poll finds Larkin in a virtual tie with Rep. Jared Moskowitz.

The campaign’s growing coalition includes IATSE, Florida for All, SEIU 1199, SEIU Florida Public Services Union, CWA, Florida Rising, Dream Defenders, FLIC Votes, Florida Young Democrats, Jewish Voice for Peace, the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, Broward and Miami-Dade Democratic Black Caucus and the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida. The momentum follows major progressive primary victories by Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota.

Tomorrow, Larkin will join Rep. Rashida Tlaib and other progressive leaders at “Chomp the Oligarchy,” the campaign’s biggest get-out-the-vote rally of the race. Hosted by Gen-Z for Change, the Florida Youth Justice Coalition, and the DSAs of Broward and Miami, the Friday night rally will also feature Rep. Angie Nixon, Rep. Melat Kiros, congressional candidate Elijah Manley, and St. Petersburg City Councilmember Richie Floyd.

The rally comes as the race remains up for grabs. A new Center for Strategic Politics poll conducted August 5 found Larkin and Moskowitz statistically tied, with Moskowitz at 40 percent and Larkin at 38 percent. Among likely voters who have not yet voted, Larkin leads 41 percent to 31 percent, with 28 percent still undecided. The poll surveyed 403 likely Democratic primary voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.87 percentage points. View the full demographic crosstabs.

Larkin’s campaign has raised $954,029.92 from 19,084 unique donors and another $52,008.96 through paper checks, without accepting a dime from corporate PACs or AIPAC. As of August 12, the campaign had knocked 35,770 doors, made 171,043 calls, sent 117,930 texts, and has made more than 200,000 voter contacts in FL-25.

“Jared Moskowitz has AI billionaires and Wall Street PACs spending big to save him,” said Larkin. “We have thousands of working people chipping in what they can because they’re done waiting for Washington to fight for them.”

FEC filings show Think Big PAC, a pro-AI super PAC linked to OpenAI and Palantir, has spent $309,573.55 supporting Moskowitz this cycle, including $277,802.78 in digital advertising reported this month. New Democrat Majority has spent another $250,000 on television advertising and production supporting Moskowitz. Combined, the groups have spent more than $559,000 backing Moskowitz, on top of the corporate PAC and AIPAC money he has accepted directly.

Larkin’s final-week surge has also drawn national attention. On Tuesday, Larkin joined Sean Hannity on Fox News to discuss his democratic socialist platform. During the segment, Hannity told viewers:

Larkin stood by every position, and the campaign’s response clip went viral. On Thursday, he joined NewsNation for a full interview about South Florida’s cost-of-living crisis and his refusal to accept money from corporate special interests. Earlier this month, Larkin sat down with CNN’s Laura Coates for a conversation about democratic socialism and the DSA platform.

The campaign also released a Spanish-subtitled video explaining Larkin’s five core platform priorities.
