Boca Raton, FL – Oliver Larkin’s campaign for Congress announced over $325,000 raised from more than 5,000 grassroots donors for the election cycle in his primary challenge to Rep. Jared Moskowitz (FL-23) following the March 31 FEC fundraising deadline.
“Democratic voters are demanding our elected representatives stand up to Donald Trump and the far-right Republicans in control of Congress, not work with them like Jared Moskowitz has on DOGE, ICE, and military funding for Israel,” said Larkin. “Our grassroots fundraising momentum—without a dime from corporate PACs or AIPAC—shows the movement we are building in FL-23 is real. South Florida is ready to replace a twice-appointed Ron DeSantis Democrat with a democratic socialist who fights for Medicare for All, $25 an hour, and abolishing and prosecuting ICE. The choice in this election is clear, and the people are on our side.”
Rep. Jared Moskowitz is rated Florida’s Least Effective Democrat by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking at the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University. He was the first House Democrat to join the DOGE Caucus, the only Florida Democrat to vote for Republicans’ Laken Riley Act, and has voted with Republicans to cut billions in IRS funding and censure fellow Democrats while accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate PAC donations.
Larkin made March headlines for appearing with Twitch streamer Hasan Piker and organizing a virtual Choose Your Fighters rally with Piker and Progressive Victory that raised $38,000 for candidates Abdul El-Sayed (MI-Sen), Angie Nixon (FL-Sen), Chris Rabb (PA-03), Claire Valdez (NY-07), Cori Bush (MO-01), Darializa Avila Chevalier (NY-13), Effie Phillips-Staley (NY-17), Hartzell Gray (MO-04), Jeromie Whalen (MA-01), Julie Gonzales (CO-Sen), Karishma Manzur (NH-Sen), Katie Bansil (NJ-06), Melat Kiros (CO-01), Rose Penelope Yee (CA-02), Saikat Chakrabarti (CA-11), Salaam Bhatti (VA-01), and William Lawrence (MI-07).
“Our campaign is part of a nationwide movement and evidence that South Floridians are ready for political change,” said Zack Bofshever, campaign manager for Larkin. “Our polling shows that when voters know Oliver, he galvanizes the Democratic support we need to win in August and November. We are grateful for the support from grassroots donors across our district, state, and country who have contributed the resources to help us win this race and flip the House majority.”
