Boca Raton, FL – The national Democratic Socialists of America announced Oliver Larkin as the organization’s first federal endorsement for Congress in 2026.
“Oliver Larkin is taking on one of the most war-mongering Democrats in Congress, and DSA is proud to endorse him,” DSA’s National Political Committee said in a statement. “Broward DSA, Miami DSA, Palm Beach DSA, and Orlando DSA have already endorsed on the ground, canvassing and carrying petitions for Oliver. We will no longer allow billionaire-backed Democrats to claim that we have to spend billions on war while healthcare is further decimated.”
Larkin, a DSA member since 2020, is the first federal candidate in Florida history to earn the endorsement of the national Democratic Socialists of America. A former campaign staffer for Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign who organized a union with the NewsGuild-Communication Workers of America, Larkin is challenging incumbent U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz in Florida’s 23rd district Democratic primary in Broward and Palm Beach County.
DSA’s national endorsements of federal candidates have included U.S. Reps. Rashida Tlaib (MI-12), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Cori Bush (MO-01), Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for president. National DSA also endorsed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani in his first campaign for the New York State Assembly in 2020.
“Our campaign is grateful to be working in solidarity with our DSA comrades across America to replace AIPAC-backed Jared Moskowitz with a representative who fights for the working class with a platform of Medicare for All, a $25 minimum wage, and abolishing ICE,” said Larkin. “Workers deserve more than what they’re getting from corporate Democrats like Jared Moskowitz. From organizing to communications to campaign management, our Broward DSA chapter is building a working class movement across South Florida to win this election. A better South Florida, and a better world, are possible.”
