2025 In These Times Labor Organizer of the Year Katherine Passley Endorses Oliver Larkin for Congress
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Katherine Passley, In These Times 2025 Labor Organizer of the Year, announced her endorsement of Oliver Larkin for Congress in Florida's 25th Congressional District.
"Oliver Larkin understands that working people deserve more than politicians who answer to corporations and special interests," said Passley. "Working families are being squeezed by rising costs, attacks on labor rights, and a political system that too often serves the wealthy and well-connected. He is building a campaign rooted in solidarity, dignity, and real accountability to the people he wants to represent. Oliver isn't afraid to challenge powerful interests, and he'll be a strong voice for workers, immigrants, and communities that have been pushed to the margins. That's why I'm proud to endorse him for Congress."
Passley is a nationally recognized labor and justice organizer dedicated to ending mass incarceration and building power among formerly incarcerated people and their families. A North Miami native, she has spent decades organizing around labor rights, restorative justice, transformative justice, and community empowerment. In 2025, In These Times named Passley its Labor Organizer of the Year.
"I am honored to have Katherine's support," said Larkin. "Katherine has dedicated her life to organizing working people, advocating for justice, and building power in communities that have been left behind by our political system. Her leadership has inspired people across Florida and the country. I look forward to continuing to work alongside organizers like Katherine to build a South Florida that works for working people, not billionaires and corporate donors."
Passley joins a growing coalition of labor leaders, community organizers, and progressive organizations supporting Larkin's campaign. Larkin, a former union organizer and Democratic Socialist, is running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, Universal Childcare, a $25 federal minimum wage, labor rights, housing affordability, and ending corporate influence in politics.
Larkin is challenging incumbent Congressman Jared Moskowitz in the Democratic primary for Florida's 25th Congressional District.
