Larkin Slams Trump’s Venezuela Killings, Moskowitz’s Silence, and TPS Rollback
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 16, 2025
Deerfield Beach, FL — Democratic congressional candidate Oliver Larkin (FL-23) condemned the Trump administration’s fifth deadly strike on Venezuelan civilians and Rep. Jared Moskowitz’s silence as the administration moves to end Temporary Protected Status for 300,000 Venezuelans and authorizes CIA intervention in Venezuela.
“Since September 1st, this administration has carried out five illegal attacks in international waters—executing 27 people under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking,” Larkin said. “These are extrajudicial killings meant to provoke war, and our congressman’s silence is unacceptable.”
Larkin noted that Moskowitz has issued no statement on the strikes or the Supreme Court’s decision allowing DHS to end TPS protections for Venezuelan beneficiaries, half of whom live in Florida.
“The Trump administration has spread false claims about Venezuelan migrants, justified illegal, unilateral sanctions, and manufactured chaos by ending TPS,” Larkin said. “They are desperate to convince people that ICE raids, mass deportations, and covert CIA regime change operations are necessary. Without inventing an enemy to be fought, it is harder to sell the illegal domestic searches and seizures, violations of immigration law, and abuses at the hands of these masked ICE officers—much less another catastrophic United States regime change war of choice.”
Larkin called for restoring diplomatic relations with Venezuela, ending sanctions, and pursuing peace and multilateralism to secure the release of political prisoners, respect national sovereignty and self-determination, and support Venezuela’s transition to democracy.
“The U.S. cannot claim moral authority while using air strikes to charge, convict, and execute human beings,” he added. “My heart is with the families of the human beings whose lives were stolen, the Venezuelan people suffering under crippling U.S. sanctions and foreign policy, and the people in our state who may be afraid for their families, to walk down the street, to speak Spanish. Our service members deserve better than suffering the traumas of being ordered to commit illegal acts. South Florida’s Venezuelan American community deserves peace, safety, and dignity—not to be scapegoated for Trump’s political gain.”
