Miami, FL – The Miami Democratic Socialists of America unanimously voted to endorse Oliver Larkin for Congress in Florida’s 23rd district at their chapter convention on Sunday.

“Miami DSA is proud to endorse Oliver Larkin, a proud democratic socialist and former union organizer with CWA, for Florida's 23rd Congressional District. South Florida needs a champion for working people like Oliver, not a corporate politician like Jared Moskowitz,” said Maria Franzblau, chair of the Miami Democratic Socialists of America.

“I am grateful to the members of Miami DSA for their unanimous endorsement,” said Larkin. “Together, we have rallied with union workers at Miami International Airport, demonstrated against imperialist wars and for Venezuelan TPS at the Torch of Friendship, and protested beside Miamians of all faiths for a free Palestine against Zionism, genocide, and apartheid. I am proud to work in solidarity with Miami DSA for a South Florida and a Congress that fights for the interests of the working class. With our shared commitment to electing new democratic socialist leadership in District 23, we can abolish ICE, win Medicare for All, and pass a $25 minimum wage. A better South Florida, and a better world, is possible.”

Miami DSA is the third chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America to endorse Larkin, following the Broward DSA and the Palm Beach Treasure Coast DSA’s endorsements. Larkin has been a DSA member since 2020 and was a staffer for democratic socialist Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign.
