Deerfield Beach, FL – The Council on American Islamic Relations Action Florida endorsed Oliver Larkin in the Democratic primary election for Congress in FL-23 on Friday.

“CAIR Action Florida’s courageous advocacy inspires our campaign, and I am proud to stand with them in the fight for our constitutional freedoms,” Larkin said. “CAIR’s legal defense to protect our First Amendment rights from prejudiced attacks on the Muslim community is among the most important work upholding the tenets of our Constitution today. In Congress, I will help CAIR defend our civil rights and civil liberties, uphold the law equally, and end U.S. support for Israel’s Gaza genocide and apartheid in the West Bank. The American people are demanding a Congress that follows U.S. and international law and invests in America, and our campaign shares CAIR’s commitment to winning these policies in the House.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order for Florida designating CAIR as a foreign terrorist organization on December 9, 2025.

Larkin added, “In the face of President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ illegal executive orders banning travel and designating CAIR as a terrorist organization, we understand these attacks are part of the same dangerous legal framework that Trump, Stephen Miller, and Kristi Noem are using to posthumously designate U.S. citizens and legal observers Renee Good and Alex Pretti as domestic terrorists after their killing at the hands of ICE and CBP agents. With CAIR Action Florida and our shared commitment, we know that justice—and our campaign—will prevail.”

Incumbent Representative Jared Moskowitz is the Democratic House lead co-sponsor of companion legislation to Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz similar to the DeSantis executive order, H.R. 4397, with 30 Republican and just 4 Democratic cosponsors.

CAIR Action Florida is Larkin’s thirteenth campaign endorsement to-date.
