Deerfield Beach, FL – Democrat Oliver Larkin’s campaign for Congress in Florida’s 23rd district announced the endorsement of the Broward Democratic Socialists of America:

“We are proud to announce that the Broward County DSA has overwhelmingly voted to endorse Oliver Larkin for FL-23. Oliver is a bold fighter for worker power, internationalism, and democracy. This campaign will give South Floridians a choice between a corporate Democrat who supports Israel’s genocide on Palestine, and a candidate who will stand up for the working class and global peace,” Broward DSA’s statement read.

“This endorsement marks a major milestone in our campaign,” said Zack Bofshever, Larkin’s campaign manager. “DSA led a historic campaign to get Zohran Mamdani elected as New York City Mayor, and DSA will lead a historic campaign for democratic socialism in Florida.”

“Whether at picket lines, meetings, or protests, Oliver Larkin shows up and stands firmly on the side of justice,” said Michael Baez, co-chair of Broward DSA.

“Democratic socialists are winning elections because of our principled commitment to universal economic rights including housing, healthcare, and higher wages,” Larkin said. “An affordability crisis is driving half of Floridians to consider leaving our state. Our campaign and DSA are organizing together to make South Florida affordable for working class people, and make history when voters elect South Florida’s first democratic socialist to Congress in 2026.”

Larkin worked on democratic socialist U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign and has been a DSA member since 2020. In addition to his role as campaign manager, Bofshever is a co-chair of Broward DSA and formerly the chapter’s Labor working group chair.

Broward DSA’s endorsement is the organization’s first chapter endorsement of a candidate for federal office in Florida history.
