3-K to College for All
Every student in the United States deserves a world-class education—from early childhood through college. That’s why Oliver supports universal 3-K and pre-K, tuition-free public colleges, universities, community colleges, and vocational and technical schools. He will cosponsor legislation to cancel existing student debt and end the politicization of higher education leadership, which has seen conservative Republicans installed at FIU, FAU, UF, New College, and FAMU in Florida alone.
Oliver believes in a strong federal Department of Education that empowers states and school boards with research-based best practices. He supports raising wages for all school personnel—from daycare workers to adjunct professors, custodial staff to teaching assistants—and strengthening teachers’ unions across the country. Oliver supports college student-athletes collectively bargaining for their rights as university employees to earn compensation and benefits.
Parents deserve a public education system where teachers have the time and resources to focus on every student. That includes investments to hire more teachers, build more schools and universities, and fund research into how new technology impacts learning and development from early childhood through adulthood.
Oliver will fight back against right-wing efforts to ban books, whitewash history, and marginalize LGBTQIA+ youth. He supports a curriculum grounded in science, facts, diverse perspectives, and practical life skills like economic literacy and civic engagement—not censorship or political propaganda. He opposes the Supreme Court decision overturning affirmative action, as well as the diversion of public education funding through voucher programs that hand taxpayer dollars to the wealthy.
In Congress, Oliver will work tirelessly to make the United States the most educated nation in the world.
